Loki Miller, Executive Director

Since 1996, I have acted in over 70 plays and musicals, and directed over two dozen for kids and adults. I have acted professionally for San Jose Stage Company in San Jose, and Pacific Repertory Theatre in Carmel. In 2021, I received my A.A. degree in acting from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. I am also a guitarist.

I started Other Theare for two simple reasons: To help performing artists discover and unleash their true passion, and to give them ownership of their work. Thank you for being a part of this exciting journey!

How Other Theatre works

There are two phases for each of our productions: development and production. In the development phase, the project and its artistic merits are explored. The purpose of this phase is to foster authentic inspiration in the developing artists, and to prevent the unnecessary trauma of rushing into performance prematurely. Everyone involved at this phase, in any capacity, is doing it for fun only.

A project may remain in this phase for any length of time, whether days, weeks, months, or years. Some artists will leave the project as a matter of course, some will come onboard who were not initially involved, or the roster may not change at all. Once the producer feels the project is ready for an audience, then it will go into production.

In the production phase, the venue is selected, the rehearsal and performance schedule are set, any remaining cast and crew positions are filled, and the show is rehearsed and performed.

Compensation

When the show closes, and Other Theatre has been reimbursed for expenses, any remaining profits are divided among the cast and crew using a profit-sharing system.
